Anxiety & Depression
Anxiety is the body’s natural response to dangerous situations however, it becomes a problem when the danger only exists in our minds. Depression is the inability to experience pleasure in our lives. It can happen to anyone and does happen to one in four of us over our lifetime. What are some of the causes of Depression and Anxiety? Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) states that the experience of depression and anxiety can be the result of old formed cognitive patterns that are distorted and negatively shaping our view of the world. Depression and anxiety can also result from factors such as environmental stressors or physical as is the deficiency in neurotransmitters known as Dopamine, Norepinephrine or Serotonin.

In therapy, individuals will be able to identify, challenge, and reconstruct old faulty thinking patterns supportive of anxious and depressive symptoms. They will acquire and work on practicing the use of effective tools to manage external stressors and which can break vicious cycles of negative thought processes.
