Michelle is a New York State licensed Marriage family therapist and she received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hofstra University. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Rutgers University. She is a professional member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the New York Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She is bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Levels 1 and 2 of the Gottman research-based Couples Sound House Relationship Theory. She works with couples and families to help them learn new methods to efficiently manage conflict, strengthen emotional connections, and improve communication. She also works with adult individuals who are battling with anxiety and depression. She uses interventions which are solution driven and are based on mindfulness, strengths and reality, and acceptance of the here and now. She works with the individual to help identify, challenge, and change harmful thinking patterns.
